Wifi doesn’t work

I am completely new to this hole thing. This is my first BB and I feel I little bit lost.
I have a BB torch 9800 and the Wifi won’t work. I’ll explain myself.

It took me a little bit to realize that the only reason I was able to connect to internet was because the options of Data services were on on the phone.
As soon as I turn them off, the internet stop working all together.
The password for the wifi is correct, and it says that is connected already, but every time that I try to open the explorer or any app with the need of internet, it won’t go. I am using the same connection in my laptop so I know is not a problem with the line either.

In the menu Manage connections –> Service status –>BB internet service it sais Not Connected
Also says Wifi Network: Type: Not connected

All this tells me there is something else that I should do I just don’t know what the problem is.

So please, can anybody help me with this?
